Named Placemats I printed out each child's name on A4 paper using an outline font. Children coloured in the letters and added drawings and stickers and artwork on the back. We marked dots on the starting point of each letter and laminated for durability.  Children use their forefinger to practice forming the letters in their name.
Name Lotto Everyone wrote their name out neatly on two pieces of card. We cut up the letters and glued one set carefully in the right order to spell out our names. We laminated our boards. Mix up all the letters upside down on the table and take turns to choose a letter. NB you can make it fairer by making extra cards with shapes such as hearts, circles etc for the short names so everyone has to collect the same amount of cards.
Letter Treasure Hunt We took a piece of card each and wrote out our names and ages.  We went for a walk, with our card and a pencil in hand. Whenever we spotted a letter from our name, we crossed it off our card (look at house names/numbers, street signs, for sale/sold signs, vehicle number plates etc).
